Service is great! If you're looking for a (Hole in the wall) type of restaurant with good prices and good food this a great place to try. The ambiance is also nice as well.
Amazing decor. We ordered the fiesta dinner and it was an abundance of food. Food was hot and came out in a timely fashion. IT WAS DELICIOUS! And priced very reasonably. Our booth was kinda tight but they do have bigger booths available. My family went around 3 pm so it wasn't busy. There is adequate parking. The waitress was so sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back.
Authentic Mexican food and atmosphere. This is a great place for lunch or dinner with family and friends. The service is great and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
The food and prices can't be beat. We've been going for years and it's always great food.
Mercy! I haven't eaten here in years and I'm sad that I haven't! Very recently, I lost my brother, and my friend showed up to my house with food from El Meskal and a bottle of wine. I only wished I had taken pictures of the food because WOW. She had ordered us two of the quesadilla bravas meals (quesadilla stuffed with huge shrimp, fajita beef and chicken and cheese) and chips and salsa. Y'all. These quesadillas were delicious and stuffed with goodies! The salsa was probably the best salsa I've eaten in a very long time. Now that I have been reunited with El Meskal, I'll definitely have to go in and visit more often. I'll update with pictures and more information on the service and ambiance when I actually go in!
I have loved this restaurant since they first opened. The food is more authentic than most. Reasonably priced. Has always been consistent. The Pechuga Frita is my favorite dish. So delicious.
Dined in on a Monday evening. We were sat quickly and served chips and salsa. Both very good. One thing to note is that this isn't the cleanest place. Kinda run down. The service was good. The food was great! We had zero complaints with anything here. I had a buy one get one lime small margarita and it was enough in just the one. I had a half order of the chicken fajita nachos and my husband had a whole order. The queso was really good and the vegetables were grilled perfectly. The chicken even had a seasoning that was really good. Never mind the uncleanliness, we will be back!
I visited El Meskal Mexican Grill for the first time for a sit down meal yesterday evening after an extended day at work for dinner with a coworker. I have had takeout from El Meskal Mexican Grill on several occasions and enjoyed my meal. The restaurant is an older establishment with colorful, authentic Mexican decorations. The server was friendly, patient, kind and attentive. She gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu. My coworker ordered queso cheese dip to accompany the complementary chips and salsa. The queso cheese dip was served hot and very flavorful. My coworker said it was the best queso cheese dip he had ever had. We both ordered the #12 which is the 2 enchilada (we both chose ground beef) combo dinners which comes with refried beans and cheese sprinkled on the beans and Spanish rice. He substituted the customary red sauce with the queso cheese sauce over the enchiladas and I ordered mine with green tomatillo sauce. My tomatillo sauce was spicy, but delicious. We both felt our enchiladas were full and flavorful, as were the beans and rice. The quality of the meal for the value is worth a return visit to El Meskal Mexican Grill to try other items from the vast menu. My only concern was that the menu was not updated for the desserts. When I inquired about desserts on the menu, we were told they only had ice cream and churros. If you are looking for friendly service and a good meal at reasonable prices, El Meskal Mexican Grill is a winner.
My wife and I have eaten here many times. The food is always good and the customer service has always been outstanding.. would recommend to anyone who like Mexican Food. Prices are also pretty reasonable.
Thanks to some recommendations and being in the area, we stopped by for a little dinner. Safe to say, the recommendation here did not steer us wrong. It's more authentic Mexican than Tex Mex. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. Our entrees were served so quickly that I don't even think we were there more than 30 minutes. The food is incredibly reasonably priced! But better than all of that--the flavors were outstanding. The Chile Colorado was tender and delicious. The enchiladas supremas really did my little heart happy. I love enchiladas and you get to sample 4 different ones on this dish. It does not come with rice and beans but believe me, you will not miss it. The flavors of the enchiladas topped with Queso, lettuce and sour cream had my taste buds dancing. The service was exceptional and I can guarantee that when we find ourselves back in Gonzales we will be returning!
